Visualization and analysis of molecular scanner peptide mass spectra.
The molecular scanner combines protein separation using gel electrophoresis with peptide mass fingerprinting (PMF) techniques to identify proteins in a highly automated manner. Proteins separated in a 2-dimensional polyacrylamide gel (2-D PAGE) are digested in parallel and transferred onto a membrane keeping their relative positions. The membrane is then sprayed with a matrix and inserted into ...
متن کاملInterpreting peptide mass spectra by VEMS
Most existing Mass Spectra (MS) analysis programs are automatic and provide limited opportunity for editing during the interpretation. Furthermore, they rely entirely on publicly available databases for interpretation. VEMS (Virtual Expert Mass Spectrometrist) is a program for interactive analysis of peptide MS/MS spectra imported in text file format. Peaks are annotated, the monoisotopic peaks...
متن کاملPOSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ION MASS SPECTRA OF RING - SUBSTITUTED NITROBENZENES
The 70 ev positive and negative ion mass spectra of ring-substituted nitrobenzenes were studied. The influence of the substituent group on the fragmentation modes of the molecular ions is discussed. The effect of pressure in the formation of negative ions was also studied. As expected, the ratio of fragment ions to negative molecular ions decreased with increasing pressure in ion source.
متن کاملVisualization and Analysis of Full-waveform Airborne Laser Scanner Data
Recent development of airborne laser scanner systems allows for digitization and recording of the full-waveform, i.e. the received signal of the reflected laser pulse. In this paper, some visualizations and analysis of waveform data are presented. The purpose is to study how waveform data can be used to extract additional information. As a first step, 3D point data are extracted and parameteriz...
متن کاملMolecular secondary ion mass spectra of kanamycins.
Sir: In our laboratories two strategies for obtaining mass spectra of involatile and/or thermally unstable natural products have been used. One is an optimization of sample vaporization, which involves rapid sample heating followed by thermal desorption and ionization under chemical ionization (CI) conditions, that is emitter CI mass spectrometry (emitter CIMS). Recently, we have reported a pre...
